Verlot is a wayside stop on the way east up the Mountain Loop Highway. The site features camping along the river. There are public restrooms and great information from the Forest Service about the natural wonders in the area. Structures in the area are on the national historic register. Many of the buildings were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
Verlot, the Mountain Loop Highway and the forest lands are filled with great day and longer adventures for those that love the outdoors.

Verlot is located about 11 miles east of Granite Falls Washington on the senic Mountain Loop Highway.
The forest service ranger station is a great place to stop and get all sorts of inforamation about the local hiking and other natural attractions in the national forests in the Cascades around the Verlot area.

If you haven’t been to Anacortes your missing a lot of natural beauty. First off it the main Washington State Ferry connection for the San Juan Islands.
The city has many great parks including the ACFL, Anacortes Community Forest Lands. There are many lakes and trails to hike and bike all year.
